The media world was shaken this week when the cover of TIME Magazine's newest issue featured a mother nursing her 3 year old son. But many ask why extended breastfeeding is so controversial when children around the globe nurse long beyond infancy.
The World Health Organization, itself, recommends mothers nurse for at least 2 years.
